Mark Relph — Vice President, Developer & Platform Group

As Vice President of the Developer & Platform (DPE) Group of Microsoft Canada Co., Mark Relph is focused on enhancing Canada’s technology economy & ecosystem. Mark’s organization engages with developers, IT professionals, designers and architects across Canada with an emphasis on building their skills and enriching their careers. Mark is also focused on stimulating early adoption of key aspects of the Microsoft® platform such as Microsoft’s web platform and software & services strategy. Mark’s team also strives to enhance the ecosystem of independent software vendors in Canada, including working with startups and the venture capital community. Finally, Mark’s group works with technology students and academic institutions across Canada to ensure that the next generation of ICT professionals is prepared for the future.
Mark has held positions in several different parts of Microsoft Canada. Prior to his current position, Mark was the Group Manager of the Developer Evangelism Team within the Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) Group. Before moving to DPE, Mark was the Manager of the NSP Solutions and Technology Team. He led a sales team focused on building .NET services in conjunction with Service Providers such as telecommunications and wireless providers. Prior to that Mark was a Business Development Manager working with Canadian technology startups and venture capital firms. While with the E-Commerce Business Development team, he was responsible for working with enterprise accounts, such as, Future Shop, Radio Shack and Chapters.ca, to help them deploy their businesses online. Mark originally joined Microsoft as a Technology Specialist. Before joining Microsoft in May 1998, Mark was a Systems Engineer at Digital Equipment specializing in development of Microsoft solutions.
